It’s no secret that I love putting my time into shopping, planning outfits, and accessorizing. But for some reason, when it comes to the other aspects of my fashion and beauty routine, I’m totally lazy.
One of these aspects is skincare. I should probably own stock in makeup remover wipes from CVS…because that’s the entirety of my ‘routine.’ I wipe my face with one each night before I go to bed and maybe slather some moisturizer on afterwards. If we’re being completely honest here, I even sleep in my makeup sometimes after particularly long nights. I know, I know…that’s the cardinal rule!
Whenever I read a magazine article or see a blog post about the importance of skincare at this age, I make a mental list of what I should purchase…but I never do. Or, I buy the products and don’t stick with the routine.
That’s why when Clarisonic sent me their Mia 1 cleansing device, I was interested to see if it would pass the Haley Laziness Test.
Spoiler alert…
It did!
The little purple device is not only cute, it’s super easy to use. You literally just wet your face, put some cleanser on the brush head, and press the ‘on’ button. I wasn’t kidding about the simplicity.
The device automatically turns off after one minute, but you can keep turning it back on if you’re not done. You don’t even have to ‘scrub’ your face…the brush head does it for you by oscillating back and forth. They call it a ‘sonic cleansing’ process.
I used the Deep Pore Brush Head with the Refreshing Gel Cleanser. At first, I wasn’t so sure it was doing anything as I used it. It felt super gentle, which is nice, but I couldn’t imagine it was getting my skin all that clean. Until I looked at the brush head and saw SO much makeup on it.
After rinsing my face, my skin felt fresh and tight (in a good, post-facial kinda way) and actually looked brighter. I followed up with a little drugstore moisturizer.
Does your laziness know no bounds? The Mia is waterproof, so you can even use it while you shower. I did that tonight and I must say, it was nice not getting water all over my sink. (We all know that splashing your face with water never turns out like it does in those commercials…)
According to Clairsonic, the Mia device cleans six times better than your hands alone. Pretttty epic.
