(Drugstore) Beauty Queen

drugstore makeup

It’s no secret that I spend most of my money on clothing.

(I’m working on it, ok?)

Which means that there’s not much leftover for makeup and hair products.

Then there’s also the fact that I press snooze every few minutes for two hours long.

Every. Single. Morning.

I barely have time to throw clothes on and brush my teeth—so makeup is clearly not even on the radar.

These two “issues” have led to my drugstore beauty habit. Forget Sephora…I buy my entire makeup collection at CVS. It’s all in one aisle! How can you beat that?!

My everyday makeup routine takes about 36 seconds.

As for how much it costs?

A whopping total of…

$31.

For my ENTIRE face.

One of my best friends recently borrowed my makeup bag in a pinch and she couldn’t stop raving about it afterwards. So, of course, I sent her to the drugstore.

Now it only seems right that I share my secrets with my readers.

So save your big bucks for a new outfit…or, like, rent or something.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in Sandy Beige, $8
I don’t usually put in the effort to apply this on a work day, but I do use it on weekends. It goes on like silk. Since I’m frighteningly low maintenance when it comes to my makeup routine, I just apply it with my fingers. They’re clean, people. Bonus? This foundation has SPF 18 protection!

Wet N Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Ticket to Brazil, $4
Bronzer is something I am particular about. I want to look like I’ve been in the Florida sun, not like I’m a part of the Florida orange groves. It’s hard to believe at this price, but this one is great. It has a slight shimmer to it and never looks orange. The only problem is I drop and break it all the time…but hey, it’s only $4 to replace! This one also features SPF 15!

ELF Maximum Coverage Concealer in Sand, $3
I like my concealer to be fairly thick since I usually don’t wear foundation. After a swipe or two of my bronzer, I use this to dot under my eyes and cover any spots. It covers imperfections like a dream, and it lasts me forever.

L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black, $10
I always get asked if my lashes are real. They are! People are always shocked when I tell them that I use a cheap drugstore mascara, but I swear by this one. I’ve been using it for several years and it never fails. No clumps, either!

Ardell Brow Pomade in Dark Brown, $6
This ridiculously low cost INCLUDES A BRUSH. Yup—with a spoolie on one side and an applicator on the other. It’s a pomade, so it’s way less messy than a brow powder, and just as easy to apply.

Happy drugstore shopping!

Colorfully Yours,

Haley
