For years, I used the same concealer by E.L.F. Thick enough to provide full coverage but not cakey, I never strayed from it. I had it in different shades for different seasons of paleness. Then, one day, I went to stock back up…and it was gone! I gave a different concealer of theirs a shot because I figured, “how different could it be?” The answer? VERY different. I hated it.
I took to my Instagram Story to poll my followers about their fave concealers. I figured maybe two or three people would respond. Little did I know, my followers are SERIOUS about their concealer picks! I got tons of responses, and then a bunch of messages either agreeing with or vehemently disagreeing with other responses.
While I received a bunch of great recommendations that I will share below, there were two top contenders in the concealer war: Tarte Shape Tape and NARS Creamy. Seven people responded to my poll with Shape Tape, and five with NARS Creamy. So, I took it to a vote.
I watched in anticipation as the numbers stayed so close for so long. As of today, though, Tarte won with 62% of the vote. Democracy be damned, people are still messaging me that THEIR choice is best. I love the passion here.
A few people asked me to save my stories, but since there were so many, I figured it’d be easiest to do a roundup of products here on the blog. So without further ado…
NARS Creamy — Don’t worry, NARS stans. I’ll try this one day.
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Concealer — This one also had multiple votes!
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind — Under $8 and was told it’s not cakey. WIN.
Glossier Stretch Concealer — Got one rec for this and one “don’t bother.” I love me some Glossier, so I’m letting you guys decide for yourselves.
Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer — Lot of Bobbi Brown fans out there, as you’ll see when I post my brow update, too.
Is your chosen one on this list? Am I missing an MVP? Let me know!
