As with many of my peers, an embarrassingly large chunk of my adolescent life was spent watching, discussing, and idolizing the teens on MTV’s Laguna Beach. I was so obsessed that I somehow suckered my parents into driving me to Laguna Beach while we were visiting my brother, Matt, at school in L.A. I traipsed around the seaside town and took pictures at the boutiques and landmarks that the show’s stars frequented.
When the show’s first narrator, Lauren Conrad, went on to star in The Hills, I watched her foray into the respective jungles that are the fashion industry and female friendship. She has inspired me with haircuts, outfits, and relationship advice. It sounds silly, but my friends and I essentially
grew up with LC.
Fast forward several years and she is still as relevant as ever. With a blog, multiple clothing lines, several books, and a new online marketplace, Conrad is an excellent role model for the girls of my generation.
That’s why when my friend Hadley alerted me to a contest on www.LaurenConrad.com, I didn’t think twice. It seemed like fate: the blog was seeking to feature a reader decked out in Fabletics gear. I had just written a blog post about the activewear company a couple of weeks before! My friend Katie agreed to photograph me, and we had a blast on our mini shoot. I first did some yoga poses in her backyard, and later that day I mixed my Fabletics top with some trendy clothing as we strolled around downtown Andover. I didn’t hear anything from the contest, so I had assumed they had picked someone else. Then, I was randomly checking out the site today and found myself! I was chosen along with two other girls as the “Chic of the Week” on Lauren Conrad’s blog. I’m super excited! Check out the post here:

I will post all of the photos from our little shoot this week so you can get a detailed look at how I took my workout gear from stretching to strutting! Stay tuned!
